Project: A Plan to Develop a Cultural Quarter in Waterford

Following Waterford’s leadership of the Three Sisters Bid for the title of European Capital of Culture 2020 the city’s ambition to continue to develop a culture-led agenda flourished. Early in 2017 KTCL was retained to deliver a Plan for the creation of a significant cultural quarter in O’Connell Street area of Waterford city, leveraging the investment from the ECOC Bid process, assessing the educational, cultural and creative, economic and social impacts such a district could have on the future development of the city. 

KTCL worked in association with Tom Fleming Creative Consultancy to deliver this ambitious development plan A Cultural Quarter for Waterford, positioning Waterford as a place where culture is valued and resourced to improve the lives, opportunities and prospects for all.
